About Us
BeeHive Press was born in October 1975 as a monthly tabloid-size
newspaper. That paper has thrived and now is in its 28th
year of publication and has given birth to a child (also
called: "The BeeHive") in Arizona. In 1985 the
Editors of the newspaper commenced work on a major project
of recording grave-stone inscriptions in Southern Nevada
because the readership of the newspaper were mainly Mormons
interested in their family heritage. The influx of new
residents with unbounded curiosity had been a negative
impact on the cemeteries of the many ghost towns of Nevada's
silver and gold rush days so preservation was becoming
critical. The result was a 725 page volume of Nevada's
history and its permanent resting places of those people
who "won the west".
The BeeHive then went on to compile history books on
some of Las Vegas' famous hotels... the "boomtown"
of Laughlin on the Colorado River... and the mountain
resort of "Mt. Charleston" north west of the
city. Most of the above books are now "out of print"
and are valuable collectors' items. A few are still available
and are listed here.
The age of offering books around the world via web sites
came upon us rapidly and we responded with this presentation.
We call ourselves "Taylor Books" because we
are a family of writers. Three of us are represented on
this web site. We hope you find something here that will
interest you.
